Recalculate the Remaining Deposit Due When Rates are Modified

Stay recalculates the remaining deposit amount to be collected for reservations when rates are modified from the Estimated Charges section.

When users update rates from the Estimated Charges section of reservations associated with an Immediate Deposit Policy, the following changes occur:

  • The Remaining Deposit Schedule will be reset.

  • The value displayed in the Deposit to Collect field will be recalculated according to the updated deposit due and deposit policy configuration.

For example, when the original deposit amount to be collected is $100 and when users reduce it to $50, the remaining $50 will be moved to the Remaining Deposit Schedule. When the rate is modified to $90, the deposit to collect will be updated as $90, and the remaining deposit schedule will be reset and removed from the Deposit section.

For reservations associated with scheduled deposit policies, when rates are updated, added, or removed from the Estimated Charges section, the Remaining Deposit Schedule and the value displayed in the Deposit to Collect field are recalculated according to the updated deposit due and deposit policy configuration.

For example, consider the following deposit schedules of a reservation:

  • Estimated Total: $100

  • Deposit to collect = $70 (70%)

  • Schedule 1 = $15 (15%)

  • Schedule 2 = $15 (15%)

When the estimated total amount is modified as $50, the deposit schedules are updated as follows:

  • Estimated Total: $50

  • Deposit to collect = $35 (70%)

  • Schedule 1 = $7.5 (15%)

  • Schedule 2 = $7.5 (15%)
